If I could figure out how to get them local pick-up, without the shipping charges, I'd have a yard full of them. Remember, it only cost me $80.
I bought it for her birthday, so that worked out pretty well. It was cheaper here than ANYWHERE else.
My wife LOVES it. I put it together myself in about 20 minutes, and I really can't see how it could be made much better for the price.
The FEDEX shipping was $25 for it to be shipped across town from a wharehouse that is less than 20 miles from me, I didn't really understand that, but even with the shipping charges it was still cheaper than any place else I could find it. I have seen some reviews of this particular item/brand that called it a cheaply made chair.
I coated it with marine grade teak oil, as recommended, and I can't forsee any reason that it shouldn't last for years with proper care. Thanks Strathwood.
I was concerned about the quality of wood for outdoors but since I can roll the chaise in for the night I feel better that I will be able to keep this in good condition. The only problem i've had is that one of the screws is not going into the space where it's suppose to. The dimensions fit perfect for the small space we have outside the cabana AND we are able to roll the chaise inside at the end of the day which is not something I thought about when ordering this item. So far the chaise is working out great. Anyhow, the hardware is good looking and most is sunken into the wood or hidden. The chaise requires some assembly AND it is shipped with all screws and wrenches.
That was a relief.
This is the second chaise amazon shipped me because the first one came to me smashed.
I am planning on cutting the screw with my jewelers saw and gluing it in the designated space because without it you'd see a hole in the wood and this just doesn't look finished.
I am using this outside a cabana.
Apparently there is a metal piece inside the wood that the screw is suppose to go into BUT it is not, which I don't think is a big deal because it's only one and there are two others in that area that worked.
Amazon was extremely easy to work with in order to return the broken item and order a new one.
That all happened within 24 hours.
(Fortunatley I am good with trouble shooting these things).
Actually, the overall design of this chaise and how the pieces all fit together were nicely designed.
We are very pleased with the chairs. We have had several big storms with heavy rain and the stain has not run at all, as others had reported. They are very sturdy and look great and we love the slide-out trays. We did apply a new coat of teak oil to them before we put them out on the deck. I do wish the back had a position that allowed you to sit up straighter. They are a great value - hundreds of dollars cheaper than similar chairs I found.
The chaise is solidy built. It needs a thick pillow, otherwise it is a bit hard. I put a rubber yoga mat under my to thin pillow. Having shopped around before buying this Chaise - it seems to me very well prized and totally satisfactory.
Here's to summer. I like the side table - although I am sure that comes on most wood lounges.
I have come to trust Amazon for exactly this and this is the first place I go to look for product, compare prices and typically shop. What more can one ask for than Value, Quality & Convenience.
It is assembled and ready to use so once you get it out of the box you are ready to relax. I am a fan of the Strathwood product from this company and when we finished our deck these hardwood chaise lounges we the perfect icing to the project.
I was able to find fun weather - UV cushions to spice up the lounges and now all we need is a little more sun ans we will be set.This is a big piece of furniture so be prepared to man handle the huge box that arrives. Great for my books and cool drink.
